My name is Joel Bervell. I’m a second year medical student at Washington State University where I serve as Medical Student Council President and the co-founder and president of a chapter of the Student National Medical Association. Outside of classes, I am committed to fighting health disparities in medicine through education. I regularly share topics about racial disparities/ biases in healthcare and other industries on my TikTok and Instagram where my platforms have over 100,000+ combined followers and 8,000,000+ impressions.

The coolest thing that’s happened in the past few months is I’ve been invited to speak on panels at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Clinton Foundation, Verizon, Open Society Foundations, Bank of America, General Electric and Coca-Cola.
